Political contributions allow Occuvistic, Inc. the opportunity to make its views known to institutions that establish laws, regulations, and policies that impact our society. In this regard, we’ve elected to form Occuvistic PAC; a political action committee which provides our affiliates the opportunity to combine their financial contributions to help shape public policy and legislation in such a way that supports our interest, that is, good government. The affiliates of Occuvistic, Inc. may hold different views regarding which candidates and policies should be supported. For this reason, we’ve installed a Coordinator whose primary duty is to spearhead its day-to-day operations.
We’re always interested in issues at the federal level of government. However, we’ve found our services to be more effective if they were provided to influence policies and legislation at the local and state levels. An important aspect of the Coordinator’s duties is to evaluate where contributions would have the best impact by employing our selection methodology. This includes evaluating the impact a contribution would present in conjunction with the potential candidate’s views on issues critical to either the success of Occuvistic, Inc. or to advancement our good government agenda. Once such determinations are made, contributions are disbursed upon final approval by the Treasurer.
Honesty is our number one policy. Contributions by Occuvistic PAC complies with federal and state laws. Additionally, we’ve develop our own ethical standards. One of our most championed standard is that we take our relationship with individuals, candidates, and other organizations into consideration when making contributions. This is done to prevent situations that might raise concerns of a conflict of interest. To ensure that such compliance and standards are met, our Treasurer is mandated to review and approve all contributions before they occur.
